Quantity Surveyor - General Construction
As a result of exciting developments in the Company a Quantity Surveyor is required to join dcl. This is an opportunity for the right individual to join the practice and contribute significantly to its growth and direction. You will need to be a dynamic individual with the desire to succeed and an ability to manage clients and develop work.
Work will be both office based in Purley and on construction projects in London and the home counties.
Five years plus QS / Commercial experience is essential and a demonstrable knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plus a reputation for providing a quality service to your customers.
Salary : Substantial package to attract the best
Employment status : Permanent following six months probation
Location : Purley, Surrey and site office in London and the home counties
Working Hours : 8.30 to 5.30 Monday to Friday

Principle Duties :
Procurement and procurement advice
Contractual advice and support
Measuring and describing construction work
Undertaking the valuing of variations and change orders
Preparation of budgets and cost plans
Cash flow forecasting
Preparation and agreement of final accounts
Ability to deal with contractual issues such as extensions of time, loss and / or expense, terms and conditions etc.
Support / preparation claims in contractual disputes
Personal Qualities :
Part 1 - Key experience and qualifications
Three to five years relevant experience
Good all round knowledge of the construction industry
Construction related qualification or degree in quantity surveying, preferred but not essential
Professional membership of (or working towards) the RICS, A Cost. E or CIOB preferred but not essential
Possess excellent written, oral, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Knowledge of IT and the ability to proficiently use word and excel
Clean driving licence
Part 2 - Abilities, Skills and Knowledge
You will need to be a confident individual able to communicate well and interact with clients and project personnel
You should have the desire to become involved with the future development and strategy of the practice
Self motivation and the ability to work on your own initiative is essential
You will need to be a team player with the ability to work under pressure and have the ability to manage projects unsupervised
You will on occasions be expected to manage, control and supervise junior members of staff
